I have a never-ending need to read. I love a good romance, adventure and drama, be it Adult, NA or YA. As long as a story has those elements I'm content.

Dragon Bound (Elder Races Series #1)

Dragon Bound - Thea Harrison In this new paranormal romance be prepared to be taken on a wild ride filled with action, shape-shifters and hot romance. Pia Giovanni finds her life turned upside down as a forced favor from her ex leaves her on the run for stealing from the most powerful man in New York and Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre. Pia knows her days are numbered and flees the city with Dragos fast on her heels. Soon she’s pulled into a supernatural rivalry battle and fighting off feelings for a man set out to make an example of her. To teach her and everyone that it’s a really, really bad idea to steal from a dragon. I really enjoyed Dragon Bound and the wild ride it took me on. Pia was a funny down to earth heroin who was strong and wise enough to know when it was time for her to get out of doge. The romance between Pia and Dragos was hot, stormy and exciting. I was just as enraptured by the chase as Dragos. I didn’t know whether they would jump each others bones or fight to the death.Dragos was thee alpha male, sexy and strong. I loved watching his world get turned around by the feisty Pia. The adventure these two were on allowed for some great action scenes and world building also allowing for their relationship to grow and morph into something nether one of them expected. Overall, Dragon Bound was a great start to The Elder Races series. Ms. Harrison created an engaging world filled with unique characters and situations that I can’t wait to discover. More please!

Misfit

Misfit - Jon Skovron *Check out more reviews and book related things at Literary Cravings*First ImpressionsWhat would you do if you knew your mother was a demon and that part of you was half demon lying in dormant waiting to come out? Would you try and find the truth about yourself and the powers you possess? That’s the path that Jael took and I couldn’t wait to find out what that path lead her on.What WorkedJael’s story really drew me in. I enjoyed her journey at coming to terms with who she really was and all the history behind it. The switch between the past and present wasn’t jarring at all and really helped in explaining and moving the story along. The story was told in 3rd person omniscient which was a refreshing twist to the POV’s styles of the books I’ve been reading; it let me get deeper into the story. The action was a world wind. In every chapter there was something happing either physically or mentally. The mystery within the story was an enigma. From Jael trying to figure out who she really was meant to be and the unknown danger facing her; to the truth about her parents and what that would mean for her future left me with so many different answers, that I enjoyed finding out the answers to these questions and the more questions that were raised. Could Have Been BetterThere was a spark of romance between Jael and Rob, I would have wished for a more intense, hot romance between the two. Though the story didn’t suffer without it. And since this is hopefully the start to a series maybe I will see thing heat up between Jael and Rob in the future.CharactersJael: She was a strong character that wasn’t afraid to get down to the bottom of thing and fin the truth even if it hurt.Paul (Jael’s Father): At first I didn’t care for him and his uptight was but as his story unfolded I grew to understand him and the choices he had to make. He quickly became an important character. OverallMisfit was a deeply entertaining story that took me on a wild ride. Mr. Skovron created a creatively diverse and complicated world were the demons are not what we expect them to be. I had a blast reading Jael’s story unfolded and I can’t wait to read more. While there wasn’t an intense romance, the world wind action, mysterious mysteries and complicated characters totally made up for it. I’m really looking forward to where Mr. Skovron takes the story.

Rush of Darkness (Primal Instinct, #7)

Rush of Darkness (Primal Instinct, #7) - Rhyannon Byrd This was the first book that I read from Rhyannon Byrd and her Primal Instinct series and I have to say that I enjoyed the story. Faced with a past abduction that changed her life forever, Raine Spencer finds herself facing her past hang on. Instead of trying to forget her past and what was done to her, Raine decides to face it and find and destroy all of her abductors. Things really start to heat up when Seth, one of the warriors who were on the rescue team that broke her out, decides to join her on her quest to capture the master mind behind the abduction, Kraven. Now Raine is a powerful vampire psychic and Seth used to be a vampire hunter so the tension between these two characters is instantly raised, add the strong sexual attraction that they have for each other that keeps on building every time they are near and you have one entertaining read. The big question on my mind was whether they would kill each other or love each other. What worked for me in Rush of Darkness was the interestingly unique world that Rhyannon Byrd created. Rain and Seth were strong characters in their own right and it made for a page turning read to see how these two would get together. The writing was clear and understandable and even though this is the seventh book in the series, I wasn’t confused or felt like I was missing anything. What could have worked better for me was the ending. I thought that it was a bit too convenient and clear-cut. This was such an engaging story I thought that there could have been more struggle and growth between Raine and Seth and their mission to find and destroy a Kraven. The more action and struggle, the more I care about what happens to them. So bring on the action and struggle I say!!!Overall Rush of Darkness was a great engaging story, with strong interesting characters and a steamy hot romance. I’m looking forward to Rhyannon Bryd’s newest installment two the Primal Instinct series. Readers interested in a paranormal romance should give Rush of Darkness a try.

Mystical Warrior (Midnight Bay)

Mystical Warrior - Janet Chapman First ImpressionsI jumped into the series of Midnight Bay in the second installment but quickly grew to enjoy the characters and their crazy stories. Mystical Warrior is the third book in the series and it captured all of the amusing light hearted humor as in Dragon Warrior while also addressing serious topics like fear and abuse. What WorkedThe tension between Trace and Fiona. Even though this is a romance I liked how it wasn’t an instant love connection between them. Leaving them time to get to know each other as a person and progressing to love.Even balanced between the humor and serious topic raised within the story. One minute I’m laughing and then sadden the next. The bit of action that is introduced with Maximillian Oceanus.I liked how the past character were integrated within the story connecting the past stories together without over taking the story.Could Have Been BetterWhile at the end this is a romance and I enjoyed it, I could have used for e a bit more action. I felt it could have been extended more throughout the story adding even more drama and intensityCharacters. Fiona- I liked her character and how even though horrible things have happened to her she didn’t let it brake her.Trace- Quite, dark and brooding. I enjoyed how he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind and even though he gave off a jerk vibe, he was a softy at heart.Maximillian- Now he was a character I enjoyed getting to know. While he and his powers were a mystery that was thankfully answered, I enjoyed how he brought the humor and action. Look forward to his story.OverallReally enjoyed Mystical Warrior finding myself invested in Fiona and Trace’s story. The story was engaging, humorous and intense. There weren’t any boring moments and I connected to the challenges that Trace and Fiona faced both paranormally as well as realistically. Midnight Bay is a great series and I look forward to reading more.

Navarro's Promise (Breeds Series)

Navarro's Promise - Lora Leigh I really enjoyed Lora Leigh’s breed series. They are filled with action, adventure and super hot romance with characters that I can’t help but connect with. I was hooked from the beginning and I’m glad to say that I’m still hooked. What worked for me in Navarro’s Promise was that even though this is first a love story between two people, Ms. Leigh has this ability of creating these complicated characters with vastly different lives and emotional baggage and places them in these crazy action packed situations that I can’t help but feel for them. These interesting compelling characters is what drives the story for me. Ms. Leigh takes the predictable romance; boy falls for girl and turns it on its head. Because adventure is not that they get together but how to they come together. I never know how it will happen. How will they overcome their differences to be ultimately be together? Are they really meant to be together besides what mother nature forces upon them? These are the questions that have me filliping the pages to find out Navarro and Mica’s answers. I enjoyed the new development happening within the breeds which is keeping things new and interesting. The romance between Mica and Navarro is hot, and steamy and believable. It was good that there was a long history between them and not love at first sight. It gave the story substance as well as added to the intensity of the story. I can’t wait to read about the developments of the breeds as they continue to fight for peace and equality in the world. Things didn’t come easy for Navarro and Mica, true the passion and desire for each other was there since the beginning, that wasn’t what it was all about. It was about trusting each other and whether or not they would work as a couple being two head strong individuals. If they were really ready to lay everything on the line for the other. Overall I really enjoyed Navarro’s Promise . Adult readers interested in a hot, intense paranormal romance should give Navarro’s Promise a read.

Betrayal (The Descendants, #1)

Betrayal - Mayandree Michel Betrayal was an interesting read that provided a new twist on Greek Mythology. With an interesting plot filled with mystery, action, love and deceit woven together I couldn’t wait to dive into this tale and see what would happen. What I enjoyed about Betrayal was the mystery and intrigue. Not knowing what was going to happen next to Cordelia and her friends kept me interested and wanting to know more. The things that happen within the book weren’t normal or predictable and I liked that. Kept me on my toes! Ms. Michel wasn’t afraid to push the envelope with the action and allowing crazy things to happing and letting the focus be about the aftermath and how Cordelia would deal with what happen next. Plus the fact that having the added pressure of trying to remember who she really was. I liked the romantic tension between Cordelia and Evan, with everything going on around them and them not exactly knowing whether they would be together in the end. The things that didn’t work for me within the story were the pacing and character development. I felt that there wasn’t smooth consistent pacing. The story would develop slowly for a long while then, bam! The action would happen and the story would pick up but then would go slowly again. And within those slow passages I felt were filled with things that weren’t really important. I enjoyed the action and would have like more of it. Though the characters were interesting as well as getting to know their crazy lives, I didn’t really connect with them or Cordelia like I wanted to. With all the crazy things happening to her I didn’t really get to really know who she really was as a person and not just this powerful supernatural being. Though I understood what she was going through and the choices she had to make there wasn’t as strong of a connection as I would have liked. The reason for that may have to do with her world crashing around her in a matter of days and her trying to figure out who she really was in the first place.Overall I found Betrayal to be an interestingly entertaining story. And I enjoyed reading the new twist created with the Greek mythology. Though I have a few gripes with the story it didn’t really deter me from enjoying the story as a whole. Readers interested in the Greek mythology told in a new way added with action, mystery and a bit of romance should give Betrayal a read. I’m interested to see where Ms. Michel will take this story next.

Chime

Chime - What would you do if you knew you were different and somehow responsible for the bad things that happened to your family like the death of your step mother and your sister’s accident that left her damaged? This is what Briony has to deal with as she hides her secret from everyone knowing that if the truth about who she really was came out she would be headed straight to the gallows. But when a deadly illness hits her town and her home, Briony knows she has to make the ultimate choice that could end her life.Chime was an interesting story that peaked my interest after I read the synopsis. What worked for me within the story was the lyrical writing style which Franny Billingsley possessed. There was great detail which drew me into the scenery and story. While I didn’t completely connect with Briony, I understood the guilt and the sadness she as going through. At times she had me wondering if she was as evil as she thought she was. What could have worked better was the pacing; I wished it could have been a bit faster. While the writing was interesting the plot wasn't as clear as I would have like which left me confused at times. trying to figure out what was really going on. Things really didn’t start to get clear and interesting for me until around the end when the truth started to reviled itself.Overall Chime was an interesting story filled with mystery and folklore told in a lyrically compelling way, readers interested could give Chime a shot.

Dreaming Awake

Dreaming Awake - Gwen Hayes Originally Reviewed on Literary Cravings- Check Out More Reviews!Gwen Hayes left me in a state of wonder, excitement and curiosity with the first book in the series Falling Under. I couldn't wait to pick up Dreaming Awake and reenter the crazy world of Serendipity Falls and Under. Theia is back at Serendipity Falls, trying to pick up the pieces of her life. Things have changed including Theia herself and she knows it. Whether that change is good or bad she slowly begins to discover as the story unfolds. So the question now becomes how Theia goes about taken back her old life and integrating it with the new one has been thrust upon her? What WorkedDreaming Awake started off where Falling Under left off. It was really entertaining to watch as Theia try to pull her life back together while dealing with how much her life has changed and the intense relationship with Haden. The mystery was suspenseful, behind what was really happening in Serendipity Falls, whether Theia would be able to pull off integrating her old life with the new and on top of all that dealing her complicated relationship with Haden really had me invested in finding out all the answers. The romance between Theia and Haiden was a roller coaster of emotions, going from sweet to steamy and back again. They clearly loved each other, that was a given from the first book, although I enjoyed how their love was tested in this book. Theia had to make some tough decisions that Haiden didn’t agree with but she made them anyway. That she made the decision really showed her growth as a character. There relationship wasn't all happy ever hugs and kisses and I appreciated that. The story was detailed and intriguing and so were the characters. They all were well rounded, believable and played important roles within the story. I enjoyed reading about their journey as much as Theia and Haden’s. I have to say that my favorite character was actually one of Theia's best friends Donny. She was such a snarky in your face character that had an opinion for everything and I looked forward to what she would say or do next. I also enjoyed her growing relationship with perfect, popular Gabe. Haiden was such a tortured boy, wanting to do the right thing and be good despite his lineage. He totally had my sympathy. Though I appreciated him wanting to do right with Theia, I was secretly thrilled when he let his bad guy slip out at some points. He had so much intensity that it radiated through out the story. I wanted Theia to continue to mess with him just to see it come out. Could Have Been BetterEven though Theia was a well-developed character that showed growth I wish she had a bit more edge, adding to the growing complexity of the story. What happened to her was a very traumatic experience and I just wish affected her even more. The beginning, though good, pacing was a bit slow and I felt that the mystery behind what was going on in Serendipity Falls could have been pushed even further. Overall As with the first book Gwen Hayes lead me on an interesting ride filled with action, danger, mystery and romance. Dreaming Awake captured me with its unique and intriguing story and characters. The beginning of the story was good but Gwen really had me at the end when things started to hit the fan and the danger was at its most high. I know that this is just the beginning and I look forward to see what will happen next. Readers looking for an intense story filled with intrigue, romance, action and danger should pick up Dreaming Awake.Yummy Read

Clarity (Clarity Series #1)

Clarity - Kim Harrington Clarity a.k.a “Clare” can see things and not your normal things. Clare has the supernatural ability to see into a person’s life by touching an object that belongs to them. The more intense reaction the person have while holding the object, the more Clare “sees”. This pulls Clare into her town’s murder investigation. Which ultimately has her fighting against time to clear her brother’s name and save the next victim. What would you do when all the signs point to your loved one being a murder?Clarity is a classic “who done it?” story with a supernatural twist and I enjoyed how it kepted me guessing. With all these interesting characters the murder suspect became interchangeable, which led to an entertaining read.Since this story is written first person through the eyes of Clare, it was important that I could connect with her and be able to understand the world through her eyes. I feel that she was a solid character with sass, independence and vulnerabilities that made me want to read more of her story.Clare had a lot of stuff going on in her life from dealing with her unpredictable power, family, the investigation and on top of all that dealing with the feelings she has for Gabe and Justin. I liked the added romance within the story. Though I would have liked for more intense moments with Justin and Gabe to crank up the intensity within the story to balance all the murder and supernatural elements. I was looking for something more unique and special between this love triangle that wasn’t fully explored yet. But there is a lot of potential there.Clarity was a great read that had me entertained while kept me in the dark with what was really going on in that Cape Cod town. Kim did a good job with the story’s pacing and description, I felt like I was really there. I really enjoyed how Clare wasn’t the only one with powers. Her whole family had special gifts and with the support of her family she wasn’t alone in her uniqueness. Clarity was an enjoying read that kept me questioning until the end. Readers who love mysteries rolled in with the supernatural will like the taste of Clarity.

Archangel's Consort (Guild Hunter 3)

Archangel's Consort - Nalini Singh *This review contains a bit of spoilers if you haven't read Archangel's Blood & Archangel's Kiss*Reenter Nalini Singh’s unique world filled with angels, vampires and guild hunters (vampire hunters). Elena is one of the top active guild hunters and from the beginning of her story to now, her life has taken a drastic turn that she could have never imagined. What do you expect from a woman who hunts vampires for a living, right? Elena now finds herself in love with Raphael, the archangel of New York and a newly turned angel herself, which was impossible, up until now. Elena tries hard to get her life on track while dealing with being a newly made angel, her relationship with Raphael and the new and unknown threat to the world. She defiantly has got her hands filled. The story brings a whole new twist on the phrase “guess who’s coming to town”. I really enjoyed Nalini’s writing an Archangel Consort is no different. With the guild hunter series Nalini breathed new life into angels and vampires that are strongly unique but actually works within the story. There’s a dark edge and power to the angels and vampires that intrigues me. I enjoyed the journey that Elena goes through and how things didn’t come easy for her. There was a lot of blood, sweat and tears that she went through in trying to solve this case. She didn’t just wake up and was this all powerful being now. She had to learn and grow and fight for what she wanted. Including her relationship with Raphael. There was a good balance of steamy sexy scenes and scenes where Raphael and Elena got to know each other better as well as their relationship as a couple. Showing their secrets and vulnerability to each other with the situations tossed at them. No instant happily ever after here, which I really appreciated. There are so many great characters within the book, mainly Raphael’s Seven (you’ll understand when you read it), with such interesting backgrounds themselves that I wanted to more about them. I wanted them to have more of a presence within the story then they already had which I don’t know if that is a bad or good thing? Possible branch off series? There was a lot of mystery and intrigue with finding out who the threat was and I love the added danger. Nalini really kept me guessing all the way to the end of the story with how the story would pay out. In reconciliation or bloodshed? And I have to say that the ending left possibilities that could be further explored while leaving me satisfied. Archangel Consort really kept me entertained from the beginning of the story all the way up to the end. The world that Nalini Singh created had all the danger, intrigue, mystery and romance to keep a reader entertained.

The Goddess Test

The Goddess Test - Aimee Carter Dive into the world of the Greek myths as one of the most well known stories is told in a new way. I didn’t know how Ms. Carter would remake the story and if it would be more traditional or modern, but she found a perfect balance which made this an overall great story. What worked in The Goddess Test were the characters, they were interesting as well as engaging adding to the complexity of the story.I found Kate to be a well throughout character with strength and vulnerable that I could relate to. The choices that she had to make were understandable and I enjoyed the journey and how she grew as a person. Henry was as complex as Kate and I enjoyed learning about him, his past and who he truly was.The relationship between Kate & Henry was intense and believable. The plot was intricately done as well as complicated. Full of mystery and surprises. I didn’t know what was going to happen next and I enjoyed the ride.Ms. Carter did a great job creating a fresh twist on the Greek mythology. While the story was complex the writing wasn’t. It was clear and easy to read, making the total experience enjoyable. I’m really looking forward to reading what’s next on Kate’s epic journey. Readers should defiantly give The Goddess Test a read.

Sin Undone (Demonica Series #5)

Sin Undone - Larissa Ione The last installment of the demonica series, Sin Undone ended with a well deserved bang. I devoured this story with it’s amazing characters and the crazy lives they lived. Larissa Ione trapped me into her amazing world filled with uniquely dangerous creatures and the even more dangerous situations they find themselves in. In this final story of the demonica series we follow Sin, the only female Seminus demon in existence. Sin’s life got extremely complicated when she unleashed a global plague that started eliminating werewolves left and right with no cure in sight. When she was paired with Conall half vampire-half werewolf, who she has a history with and who hates her because he thinks she intentionally unleashed the plaque which is killing his people, things got interesting fast. From the first demonica series Pleasure Unbound I was entranced by Ione's characters and they’re crazy adventures and I feel that Sin and Conall was craziest of all. Both very strong characters with strong personalities, convictions, and pasts that continued to haunt them while shaping who they are. This made it a pleasure to read how they came together to form of romantic bond tight enough to get through all the baggage they carried and the crazy situation being thrown at them. The romance between Conall and Sin was sexy as it was exciting and dangerous. There’s so much sexual tension as well as the tension between their personalities that it left my heart racing. When together I didn’t know if they were going to jump each others bones or fight. As usual Ione did a great job creating this amazing world with such attention to detail that not for one moment did I feel any disconnection. There was so much action and adventure layered with danger and romance that I couldn’t read fast enough. Readers old and new will instantly fall in love with Ione's characters and world. Ione has the ability to take creatures that are normally painted as evil and demented, giving them hope, dreams and feelings that I couldn’t help but feel attracted and I thank her for that. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for her next series Lords of Deliverance that I know I will love just as much.

Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart

Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart - Sarah MacLean Ever since I picked up MacLean’s first historical romance Nine Rules To Break When Romancing A Rake I was instantly drawn into her world of English society and passion. In the third book to her Love by Numbers series the focus is on Juliana, the younger sister of twin brothers Gabriel and Nicolas St. John, who finds her love in the most unlikely person. The prim and proper Simon Pearson, Duke of Leighton. Now Simon has a great aversion to gossip and scandal which Juliana was cloaked in ever since she stepped into England and Gabriel and Nicolas’s lives, so I was curious and excited to figure out how her and Simon relationship would go. MacLean is known for bringing adventure and sizzling hot excitement to the historical London society and she defiantly brought it and more with this story. The romantic tension between Juliana and Simon was off the charts and I loved how Juliana’s strong personality slowly striped away at Simon’s cold proper shell, showing him to be the hot blooded male filled with passion that he kept tightly contained. From the start I was drawn into the story and was taken on a wild ride filled with scandals that I didn’t want to end. Though this is a romance with the predictable ending of happily ever after, MacLean made the journey sizzling hot and adventurous. With so much intrigue that ultimately me questioning all the way up until the end. Overall I really enjoyed everything about Eleven Scandals to Start To Win a Duke’s Heart and recommend this book to romance readers.

In the Arms of Stone Angels

In the Arms of Stone Angels - Jordan Dane What an intense, engaging story. In The Arms of Stone Angels had me from the beginning of the story till the end. What worked for me within the story was the deep intensity and the serious issues brought up from the beginning. Besides the engaging story were the characters that had to navigate the crazy world they live in. Brenna was an interesting character to get to know and explore with the adventures she had to go through. She was very strong in dealing with the things that happened to her. If it were me I know it would have driven me crazy. I understood the choices she had to make even though they were hard ones. The story took unpredictable turns that lead me on a crazy journey with Brenna and White Bird. There wasn’t much romance between the two but the adventure and drama made up for it. The writing was smooth and lyrical and didn’t leave me confused with what was happening. The use of Native American myths was well done, flowing well with adventure and drama. I really enjoyed this book and feel that readers will too.

Hereafter

Hereafter - First ImpressionsNobody really expects that after you die is when you really start to live, learning more about yourself and out of all things finding connection…finding love. In Hereafter I was easily engrossed in a journey of self discovery and love all rolled into a supernatural setting that I couldn’t put down. What Worked The mystery behind Amelia and how she came to be a ghost. There was so many different possibilities and I liked how Ms. Hudson played on each one keeping me guessing as well as questioning. The romance between Amelia and Joshua, though some may find it quick and typical it tugged at my heart I was really entranced at how they came together and how their relationship formed. I mean how could a ghost and a human have a relationship? That question had me turning the pages to find the answer. The underlining danger within the story. With the potential of Joshua being caught and labeled as crazy every time he was with Amelia. I really enjoyed the scene with him and Amelia and how he played it off, very smart. Plus the plans that the creepy / mysterious Eli had in store for Amelia. I enjoyed getting to know Joshua’s family; it opened up the story and added depth to the world building as well as the plot. It gave additional knowledge to what was going on with Joshua and Amelia while also throwing another problem within their relationship. The struggles that Amelia had to go through. Here is a story that the protagonist struggled and for a long time at that. Even when she was “awakened” the answers didn’t come easily to her. She had to push, scrap and dig for every memory to find the answers she was looking for. Even if it was too painful. In those struggles is when I connected with her the most.CharactersAmelia: Was a great character that I really connected with in all her struggles. I liked how strong and vulnerable she was willing to open up her world with Joshua and herself and find the truth about what happened to her, no matter the outcome.Joshua: Enjoyed how he was willing to go there with Amelia. Even though it was crazy and he ran the risk of being labeled crazy he saw something in her and didn’t let go. He was strong enough to ultimately not care what people saw or said. I can’t help but admire strong character.Joshua’s Grandmother: She was the love/ hate character for me in this story. Loved her quirky personality and how she said how she felt no matter who was around, though I hated her closed minded attitude towards things. She thought she knew everything and that was that.Eli: Mysterious creepy spirit guy who brought the spark to the story as well as humor.OverallHereafter was a story that I found myself really enjoying. I got into Amelia and Joshua’s story and all the complications that went along with it. Ms. Hudson’s writing was clear and easy to understand. I flew passed those pages. There was a clear ending that left me satisfied but also left things unanswered for a continuation of the story which I look forward to.

Vesper

Vesper - Jeff Sampson An interesting take on a known paranormal tale, I enjoyed reading Vesper. The story opens up with mystery and intrigue as Emily recounts the events leading up to the sticky situation she now finds herself in, which instantly had me wanting to know more. What happen? How did she get to where she was? Where exactly was she? I enjoyed finding these questions out and so much more. Emily was an interesting character and so was following her crazy life. What I enjoyed the most was the mystery of her dual personalities and what she would do next and what it would all lead to. The pacing flowed nicely. Each chapter held my attention building up to an interesting conclusion. What I feel was lacking a bit within the story was some sexual romantic tension between Emily and her romantic interest.I did enjoy how the main focus of this story was on finding out what was really going on with Emily and her crazy mood swings. And boy was they crazy. But I could have use for more interaction with her unique kind and more variety of characters. Seeing how this is the start of a new series, I hope I’ll get to see and hear from more uniquely different characters and I hope to see more of Emily’s powers and what she can really do.Overall Vesper was a great start to an interesting story that has the potential to be a great series. It was just enough action and mystery to keep me entertained and guessing at the same time. Looking forward to reading more from Jeff Sampson.
