This story is about wanting and all the different variations of how people express the emotion. We meet two girls from Australia who at face value are totally different but as I read on were alike in many ways. Charlie is the shy quiet one who is invisible to those around her but has a passion for music which is were she escapes to and lets out all her built up emotions. Then we have Rose who’s loud and popular and has an in your face attitude but is secretly smart and wants to continue her education in the city. I quickly began to fall into their world by how cleverly Crowley wrote their dual points of views and I saw how both girls viewed the world and how they both had a desperate wanting to find out who they were and to begin to live their lives. The plot and characters were very engaging and had me wanting to find out if Rose was going to be able to go to the school in the city and if Charlie would finally put her self out there with her music and gain friends and the romance she’s been wanting. This story was so beautifully written, that I could picture my self there in the Australian country with the sun on my skin and the sand beneath my feet. This story holds a lot of depth and discovery that made it a real enjoyable read for me. I loved the added romance and action which was a total plus. I really love the cover and the different art for the girls points of views and the songs from Charlie within the pages as well. I would recommend this book to everyone out there.
